Happy Valentine’s Day!
Govind made dinner….
And I made dessert. Yes I am not the best at icing cakes and I forgot that we had run out of red food coloring!
We are very fortunate to have some people we think of as family in Ithaca. Here is Mirabelle’s Ithaca Popo (grandma). The way she shows off Mirabelle you’d think it was her daughter!
In addition to the hundreds of photos we have on our website, we also have a Flickr page at http://www.flickr.com/photos/ga73/. Feel free to stop by and add comments. The most interesting are kiddie pictures of both Charlotte and Govind.
I was finally able to get this video up online, at Google Video. It’s a beautful video.
Something that you might have noticed in the last few posts. Mirabelle smiles now! We don’t say she is gloomy or serious anymore. She’ll flash a cute smile to any stranger and giggles and laughs plenty if you entertain her. She’s been doing that for at least a month and it has been the most rewarding thing for me. What a milestone. I am sorry we forgot to tell you all about it earlier, we were too busy enjoying her.
Charlotte’s friend Jen and her partner Sarah was here in Ithaca last month and took some amazing pictures of Mirabelle. Sarah is a professional photographer, so that helped!! Here are a couple of them!
Well, here is a better picture of my belly. It is about a week old and my belly is getting bigger by the day! Things are going well though. We are feeling more prepared for the big day. The prenatal yoga teacher even talked to me as if I wasn’t going to be in class next Sunday. Everyone’s trying to guess when she will be born, but nobody knows except her.
According to this report by the Kaiser Family Foundation, parents know that TV is bad for kids (the American Academy of Pediatrics says no TV to kids under 18 months is good), but they plop them in front of the TV anyways. Here’s a sympathetic article from the NY Times about that. Charlotte and I don’t watch TV, so that might not be a problem. Yet, we could certainly change our minds :-).
Howdy folks, we need some help to name our baby girl. We want a name that’s out of the ordinary, yet easy to pronounce (not spell, that’s hopeless). We would also like a name that is multi-syllabic, though that’s optional. So, send Charlotte or I your suggestions!!
This is the link for our stirring and oddly idealistic rendition of We Are the World. I’ll be sure to embarrass our daughter by playing it when her friends come over. (warning, it’s a big file!)
Wednesday is our midwife appointment, the time we learn whether we’re going to have a boy or a girl.
