In just an hour, we’ll be having a baby shower for Charlotte. There should be lots of pictures from that event. Later, we have an afterparty with some friends here at the house (the Hasbrouck one).

Sunday, March 5th, 2006
We went to a wonderful party at Elton and Meg’s home (also in Hasbrouck) on Saturday night. Above, from left to right is Gregory, from Belgium, Meg, the co-host of the party, Stephanie, from Belgium and Marie, also from Belgium (and pregnant, a month ahead of Charlotte!).
In the picture below, Elton is sitting in front of me, facing Charlotte. Gilles, our friend from Belgium, is sitting at the end of the table. Mayte, from Mexico is sitting next to Charlotte and Gregory, another Belgian (where did they all come from!!) is sitting next to Mayte. Stephanie, Gregory’s wife is not facing the camera. Meg, Elton’s wife, is taking the picture and Marie, Gilles’ wife is sitting at the other end of the table. Anyways, a great party. Elton and Meg “claimed” that it was their first as a couple, but from the fun that we had, they seemed like experts!
A Blast From the Past
Sunday, March 5th, 2006

Thanks to Gilles and Marie for sending us photos from our Thanksgiving 2004 in farm outside of Ithaca. (Note that Ithaca is basically surrounded by farms in all directions, so putting that it is 5 miles outside of downtown Ithaca does not give you a sense of how far it really was!). Anyways, these cute Shetland cows made friends of all of us quite quickly actually! More pictures to be posted very soon!
Our Dinner with Some New Parents
Tuesday, February 21st, 2006We went to John and Luana’s house, with some food since they just gave birth to a baby girl a couple of weeks ago. They were doing quite well– not too stressed out over the new addition. Only the older sibling (a very cute rabbit) seemed at all traumatized by losing the affection of the “parents”. The rabbit recovered quickly after getting some yummy lettuce to eat!
But, visiting them was pretty comforting actually, because although having a baby is hard work, they seem to be enjoying themselves quite a bit! Luana came the next day to our Expectant Parents group at Hasbrouck to tell us about her birth story.
Our Baby Registry
Thursday, February 2nd, 2006Some have inquired about our baby registry. We do indeed have them in three places because there is some mutual exclusivity with some of the stuff that we need.
Organic Baby is a great place to get earth sensitive gifts. It’s at http://www.mygiftlist.com/registryfinder.asp?refsource=organicg1004
Target has the most stuff that we need, plus you can get us a gift card as well. It’s at http://www.target.com/gp/gift-registries.html/ref=nav_t_gr/602-1038755-0894260
We also have a few items at Baby’s r’ Us, especially the stroller we’ve been eyeing (which the other two don’t have). That registry is at babysrus.com, then click on baby registry and fill in the information.
We also like used baby items. We plan to buy a lot of things from a used baby clothing store in Ithaca, Mama Goose. So if you’re in Ithaca gift certificates are greatly appreciated from that store. Or, if you want to give us a gift and have old baby clothes or cloth diapers, we’ll appreciate those too. No need to get us something new. The baby won’t notice and with the way babies are, neither will anyone else.
