We went to Maine to go to my high school best friend’s wedding. The wedding was a blast. Our pictures didn’t turn out that great, but I bet they had some beautiful ones. Here is one of the new couple and their dog. I think it’s cute! Congratulations Beck and Stuart!

Groom, Bride and Dog
Sunday, July 13th, 2008Hanging out in Portland, ME
Sunday, July 13th, 2008We have more pictures of the wedding, some old high school friends and a lot of great pictures of Mirabelle in and around Portland. So check out the Flickr site. Just click on the picture and it’ll take you there.
In this picture she is showing off one of the many starfish she found at the tide pools. We took pictures of the animals, but unlike California, many people were collecting the animals in their sand buckets and showing them off to everyone. I think I saw at least 10 people with 20-50 starfish in their buckets! That’s a lot confused starfish. I feel sorry for these tide pools. Their inhabitants must have a hard life.
States Govind Has Visited
Thursday, May 24th, 2007Here are the states that Govind has visited thus far (I missed this year’s Amnesty International meeting in Wisconsin, so I missed a chance there):
Sarina showing Mirabelle How To Walk
Monday, January 15th, 2007Sarina is showing her younger cousin how to crawl.
Also in Arizona
Sunday, January 14th, 2007Tata and Ajji
Friday, January 5th, 2007Cousins
Friday, January 5th, 2007Mirabelle visited with lots of her cousins, but here is a picture of her with her only “real” cousin (daughter of Govind’s sister).
Grandparents
Friday, January 5th, 2007The highlights of our trip were grandparents interacting with Mirabelle. They loved her of course! These are Charlotte’s parents in their house in Napa, CA.
Last Day of Vacation
Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007We will be returning to Ithaca tomorrow evening.
Off For Vacation
Wednesday, December 20th, 2006Charlotte, Govind and Mirabelle will be on vacation beginning from today till early January. We’ll be posting irregular updates from Maricopa and Scottsdale in Arizona and Napa in California. Hope everyone has a good winter holiday season!
Off to Maryland
Wednesday, November 22nd, 2006Charlotte, Mirabelle and I will be spending Thanksgiving with my aunts and uncles in Maryland. We will be staying in Frederick, after taking in Gettysburg. It should be a fun, but short trip. We’ll update with photos once we get back.
More pictures from Vermont
Saturday, April 1st, 2006For more pictures of the Vermont trip, especially of the old cabin, visit our website.
Rustic Living
Saturday, April 1st, 2006Back From Vermont
Tuesday, March 28th, 2006We’ll have some pictures later. It was a fun trip out to south central Vermont and briefly in New Hampshire. The highlight definitely came at the end when we saw some of Charlotte’s great-uncle’s paintings at a restaurant in Killington. We also got some good pictures of the cabin that he spent his summers in until his death in 1970. It was a great road trip– only 4 hours from Ithaca!
Govind Off to Hollywood
Tuesday, March 7th, 2006I’m off to Hollywood for International Women’s Day and the Hollywood opening of Deepa Mehta’s film Water. I’ll be schmoozing with Hollywood’s actors and actresses, just days after the Oscar’s. Actually, I have no idea what I’m going to be doing there other than participating in a question and answer on human rights in India. I’m sure I’ll be woefully underdressed for this occassion (my used, slightly too small green jacket that I bought at a used clothing store will be no match for Brad Pitt’s fancy get-up).
It’s going to be an extremely quick trip. I’m leaving tomorrow morning at 7am, will arrive there at 1:30pm, then leave around noon the next day. I tried to squeeze in a trip to Phoenix to see my parents, and my sister’s family, but the connections didn’t work out– I’d have to be away another day, which I can’t afford.
So, no updates from Govind on his side, but Charlotte said that she’ll post some stuff on this blog very soon!!
A Blast From the Past
Sunday, March 5th, 2006

Thanks to Gilles and Marie for sending us photos from our Thanksgiving 2004 in farm outside of Ithaca. (Note that Ithaca is basically surrounded by farms in all directions, so putting that it is 5 miles outside of downtown Ithaca does not give you a sense of how far it really was!). Anyways, these cute Shetland cows made friends of all of us quite quickly actually! More pictures to be posted very soon!
