Mirabelle loves to take our camera and take pictures. However, we rarely get one that we can keep. She still doesn’t understand how to point the camera. She did manage to take this nice self-portrait though.

June 12th, 2008Shushi lover
June 12th, 2008Sushi is one of Mirabelle’s favorite foods. I make it for her once a week. She eats it without soy sauce or wasabi so I think it is a bit bland, but she can’t get enough of it.
A fun picture

May 9th, 2008Great wedding
May 9th, 2008What a great wedding. My college roommate Jennifer (in the dress) married Sarah. It was beautiful weather, a nice ceremony, and great wedding cake with ice cream. We really like Sarah and are ever indebted to her for taking great 3 month pictures of Mirabelle.
It was also nice to see some friends from college and spend some time in San Diego

May 9th, 2008It’s amazing what you find in upstate New York on your way to the airport.
Vet School Open House
April 12th, 2008We went to the vet school open house today. Mirabelle has been afraid of many animals lately. She hates spiders and insects and large animals. She tolerates snakes although she currently doesn’t want to touch one (she did a few months ago). And she seems to love birds. She really liked the raptor room and tried to pet the peregrine falcon even when it was flapping around.
Friend’s new photography business
April 8th, 2008I can’t remember if I wrote about them when they left, but there was a family that came to Ithaca the same year we did. The mother is Chelsea, who is a great photographer as you can see on her normal blog, which was inspired by us! However, now she has moved back home to Tasmania and is starting a photography business. To kick it off she has put up a new photography website which is awesome. You can even go through her music playlist and pick your favorite song. Mine is Time After Time. It is great to see all of her best photos. It makes us wish we’d hired her before she left.
Spring
April 6th, 2008Well, for those of you not in Ithaca, you might not catch the significance of this picture. However, it is spring and it is sunny outside again! I took this picture from Fernow today. I will take more of wildflowers and fun things, but I couldn’t resist just posting a picture of a sunny day.
Haircut
March 28th, 2008Govind cut Mirabelle’s bangs the other week. People say she looks older now. I think she looks really old in this photo.
Things are going well in Ithaca. It snowed last night. One of the last big snows of the season I think. Mirabelle was very happy to see snow. She has been sad about the lack of snow ever since our neighbor’s snowman melted.
Everyone in Ithaca is talking about spring. The snowdrops are out and a few Crocus too. The leaves on bigger bulbs, like tulips, are also sticking out of the ground, but it will be a little while before they flower.
Thanks Ajji

February 9th, 2008The Bubble
February 5th, 2008Given that Clinton is New York’s Senator, it’s not a surprise that she won this state easily. But, as you can see from this map, there was one county that bucked the trend– Tompkins County, the county that Ithaca is in (it’s the tannish color one in the middle). Living here kind of keeps you in a bubble. That could be good, given the past seven years. But, on the other hand, you feel somewhat isolated from the rest of the country’s politics.
Some pictures from Arizona
January 21st, 2008Finally some recent pictures
January 21st, 2008I will finally post a few pictures from the holidays. Enjoy.
Human Rights Defenders
January 21st, 2008In honor of MLK Day Amnesty International put up this fun quiz. I usually don’t post stuff like this, but I couldn’t help it when they said I was most like Mother Theresa. I wonder what other Human Rights Defenders they have in that database.
Charlotte
The holidays are here
December 19th, 2007Local Stuff
December 9th, 2007Charlotte is now on the Steering Committee of the Finger Lakes Native Plant Society. As a result, she now regularly writes a column on the happenings of volunteers for the organization. Govind is now on the Personnel Committee at the Greenstar grocery coop. Mirabelle isn’t on any committee here in town as yet, but we do drag her to all of the meetings.
